The version “Sonic” of Palit 8600GT does not have the stock 8600GT frequencies , but as the name
“Sonic” indicates it, it is a overclocked version. The 8600GT reference has 540MHz Core and 700MHz (1400 effective) for memory GDDR3. Palit OCed this card to 600/1600MHz, a surplus of more than 10%, not negligible at all.
Palit GeForce 8600 GT sonic have dual-slot cooling system (thickness of cooler is 35 mm);. The video chip has an aluminum cooler from zalman production .
A lot of differences from a normal 8600GT with Palit 8600GT Sonic+ . Compare the clock and the bandwidth from the gpu-z software diagnose results.
